...My website is the most prominent patient-to-patient site in the world for the specific malignancy focused on. I'm not a doctor and I don't give medical advice. Rather, I'm a long-term survivor of an incurable cancer, healthy and very active. My goal is to ensure that patients are well versed on the confusing nature of their disorder. I respect the scientific method, and I emphasize the integrative approach to medicine.

As such, I gain many ideas re natural medicinal therapies from your investigative work that relies almost exclusively on PubMed, independent university-based research. I regard your work as akin to that of a pioneer. There will be apparent breakthroughs, but there will also be inevitable setbacks that require retrenchment and a new approach. You work diligently with very little financial support. You are totally unique as far as I can tell. No, I do not follow every single idea you uncover. I'm very careful what I recommend to my members. But seldom does a day go by that I don't check in to see what "Dr. Steve" is researching now. And over the course of time you have uncovered some gems.

Take heart in knowing you are bringing forth many, well-founded scientifically-based ideas for balanced, intelligent people to evaluate. Medicines that have passed rigorous phase 3 trials "lose" thousands of patients every day. There's a lot to learn yet about cancer. Human irrationality will occur from time to time, but it cannot and should not influence well-intentioned, quality work.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in December 26th, 2005.  I was started on the gold standard of treatment, Gleevec.  I was told not to worry by everyone who spoke to me.  Gleevec is the magic bullet.  I wanted to believe this was true.  In July of 2006 I was told that my response to Gleevec had been suboptimal and that they would have to increase my dose.    After 3 months of therapy on th highest possibe dose, I had  very good cytogenic response to Gleevec, but my Molecular response was suboptimal.  This response was confirmed three months later.

Stalled in my current approach, I contacted Dr. Steve Martin of Grouppe Kurosawa to discuss his thoughts on CML.  He suggested adding curcumin disolved in coconut milk to my treatment plan.  He told me Curcumin inhibited NF Kappa B and that this was a key in killing cancer.  I did a little of my own research and found out that CML cells that are resistant to Gleevec overexpress NFKappaB and that a drug was in development that targeted this exact mechanism of action in CML.

So I gave it a shot.  Please note my level of disease reduction since I started taking curcumin. Please also note, I routinely take Curcumin breaks for as long as three months to test my thinking.  You will note that at one point in this progression, my PCR counts again stalled.  This stall was caused by a stoppage in my consumption of Curcumin.  When I am taking Curcumin, my PCR falls.  PCR tests are a method of measuring the most minute amounts of cancer left in my body.  I promise you that when you see reductions in my PCR, I have been taking consistent doses of Cucrumin for 4-5 consecutive weeks.

7/20/07 0.528
4/20/07 0.861
1/17/07 1.801
10/15/06 1.762

Please note that the 7/20/07 and the 10/29/07 results are statistically speaking identical.  Yesterday I discussed this approach with my hemotologist who is a well known and highly respected MD, PhD and his words to me were, "You may be on to something" and they will be testing my blood to try to identify what is taking place in my body. Throughout, Dr. Martin and I have discussed what is going on, tweaked my approach, and celebrated our mutual success.  One day, Dr. Martin, my wife , and I will celebrate my cure of CML.  We will stand, overlooking the Sonoma valley with a bottle of GREAT red wine in toast this victory.  I thank my Lord and God for Dr. Steve Martin.  This is a man who freely looks for cures for deadly diseases.  People are alive today because of the work he does.  Ask Adam.  Ask the people he has cured of Breast Cancer, GIST and Prostate Cancer.  With respect,  admiration and love,

I underwent chemotherapy treatment against AML (acute form of leukemia) from February to August 07. During the treatment and thereafter I got inspired by this site and have used natural medicines MASSIVLEY and while statistically I should already have had a relapse my blood and bone marrow tests show non signs of leukemia whatsoever anymore. It's not the programme that cured but it's definitely an indication that it helped to maintain remission. I broadly followed the GK cytotoxic and immune response protocols but always check the recommended products against empirical studies regarding my type of leukemia and accordingly adjust the programme slightly or leave certain products out that I don't feel too sure about. To me the winning combination is Doc Steve's brilliant and inspiring research backed up by empiric data on the particular form of disease. Already the hope I gain from this and the feeling of taking on the fight against the illness myself can't be measured up with gold in my opinion. My oncologists neither endorse nor reject the natural medicines I take (they would risk their jobs if they would support it) but even they agree completely that there is massive hidden potential in natural medicine as no pharma company pays a cent on medicine they can't get a patent on. It's a shame all this potential is still so much hidden and Doc Steve is a hero for unlocking it for us.
