Blanche Speaks
If you’re thinking of switching to the Kurosawa Protocol…
Be advised that there is an inevitable period of transition. You will feel worse, not better, after making the switch.
In one way, you’re fortunate. We’ve already made some of your mistakes for you. This protocol evolved by trial-and-error. Sometimes an approach that “looks good on paper” fails the test of reality. I can attest to that.
I cannot speak to those who are beginning treatment for the first time, nor those who are already suffering treatment failure on the conventional regimen. This note is strictly about those who were doing reasonably well on the drugs but opted, for whatever reason, to switch to a more natural approach.
The story of my interaction with Dr. Steve will appear on this site as soon as I can get myself organized, but here’s a synopsis for starters:
At the time I switched protocols I was in fairly decent shape. CD4s around 600; viral load undetectable under 50. Why not leave well enough alone? Someday the drugs will fail. Before that my liver may implode or whatever it does due to the massive amounts of chemicals it was forced to process.
At first I felt better. I had more energy. Then the fun started. Shingles again. Candida. My first blood test after the protocol switch stopped both Dr. Steve and myself dead in our tracks: 55 CD4s and a viral load of over 100,000! Not good.
We adjusted the treatment and tried again. I remained very sick and in three months, the next blood test was no better. I fact, the CD4 count had dropped to 26! “Why aren’t you dead?” the good doctor wanted to know.
Actually, in spite of the horrible blood tests and continuing skin problems I felt fine. Just very, very weak. Eventually Dr. Steve narrowed the problem down to the Curcumin, which is an excellent treatment for melanoma but apparently is not for the HIV+. As soon as I changed to my current protocol I began to improve.
One thing I think you should know, and I’m told this applies to everybody once the protocol starts working. At first you will feel like shit reheated. Nausea, weakness, loss of appetite, the dread diarrhea.
It passes. Right now I’m waiting for January and my next blood test. Perhaps we should start a lottery on my numbers?
Love and Kisses,
Blanche
