Caffeine Inhibits Synthesis of the HIV Virus in T Lymphocytes by 94%

I wrote this essay over three years ago. It was ignored. That was then and this is now.

Background.

When a T lymphocyte is stably infected with the HIV virus, the virus can only be made in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. During this period, the viral gene is maximally exposed to transcription factors that allow it to make viral mRNA, hence more virus. The longer the G2 phase of the cell cycle, the more virus the cell can produce. Caffeine and theophylline, a common asthma drug, can both shorten the cell cycle by reducing G2 "pausing". This means LESS virus will be produced. The essay below is self explanatory.
